About the activity:

“The Floating Laboratory” – an educational sailing program lasting an hour and a half, accompanied by the instructors of the Association
of Kinneret Cities, combining active and experiential learning in the fields of environmental science, biology, geography,
chemistry, and ecology. The students explore the Sea of Galilee using professional equipment – sampling water
and the seabed, examine microorganisms under a microscope, conduct environmental measurements, and engage in a hands-on experience
Unique in the heart of the lake. An educational cruise for schools on the Sea of Galilee encourages exploration and environmental awareness.
The activity is tailored to the age, educational background, and learning objectives of the school – in full coordination with
the educational staff.

Programs tailored for schools:

Elementary schools:

Field days for elementary schools are designed to expose students to the fascinating world of the Sea of Galilee in a way
that is experiential and enriching. The activity includes:
Learning through experience and hands-on activities.
A combination of optional walking, experiments, games, and puzzles.
Getting to know the Sea of Galilee as a natural habitat and understanding the impact of human activity on its ecosystem. As part of our educational cruises for schools on the Sea of Galilee, we offer a close-up encounter with nature and learning.
Team-building activities that teach environmental responsibility.
It is also possible to include field days for parents and children that promote sustainability and environmental conservation.

Middle and high schools:

For upper grades, more in-depth field days are offered, tailored to specific areas of study:
Biology – Measurement and analysis of abiotic and biotic factors, introduction to animals and plants
The species typical of the Sea of Galilee and their adaptations to the environment as part of an educational cruise on the Sea of Galilee.
Chemistry – Students perform laboratory tests on water samples: dissolved oxygen levels, nitrite, nitrate,
ammonia, acidity, and more.

How does it work?

in environmental educational guidance from the Kinneret Cities Association

After prior coordination with the educational staff, a preparatory lesson is delivered, including a presentation, information

During the cruise – students receive worksheets and data collection sheets and engage in sampling
